Below is some information regarding WINZ subsidy and eligibility. Please be aware that this subsidy is provided by Work and Income NZ and Bizzy Bodz is not responsible for payments, approvals, or personal information.

What is a WINZ Subsidy?

A WINZ subsidy refers to a payment that is provided by Work and Income New Zealand to help assist families with payments towards childcare. A WINZ and OSCAR subsidy are the same thing.

Who can apply for a WINZ Subsidy?

You can apply for a subsidy if;

  • you're the main carer of a dependent child/ren

  • you're a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident

  • your family is on a low or middle income.

  • your child/ren has at least three hours of care a week

The childcare assistance available to you will depend on your individual situation and the type of childcare your child/ren is enrolled in.

How to apply for WINZ?

All caregivers who wish to apply for a WINZ subsidy will need to enrol with Bizzy Bodz. You will then have to complete your booking for your child and select complete a WINZ Subsidy Form.

Which forms should I fill in?

For all first-time caregivers wishing to apply for a subsidy you are to fill in a “Childcare Assistance Application Form”. Caregivers are to complete pages 1-24 and Bizzy Bodz will complete pages 25-28.

Bizzy Bodz will fill in this application based off your booking with us. It will then be emailed/given to you to submit alongside your application. All applications are to be submitted by the main carer of the dependent child/ren, if you are unable to we are more than happy to submit these for you. With this form you are to provide copies of documentation (listed on page 3) which is why Bizzy Bodz does not submit your forms for you.

Forms and documentation can be dropped to your local WINZ office, applied for online through your MSD Portal or you can email these through directly to; childcare_forms@msd.govt.nz.

How long does WINZ take?

WINZ takes 3-4 weeks to process, it is important to submit your paperwork prior to your booking starting. Caregivers are required to pay for all fees until WINZ approves your application. If your WINZ is approved Caregivers will be responsible for the balance of fees after WINZ contribution.
