Turanga-nui-a-kiwa

Our Philosophy

Welcome to Bizzy Bodz Early Learning Centre Gisborne

Bizzy Bodz will advocate for our tamariki to value and know who they are and to excel by offering a learning journey within a nurturing environment.

We will demonstrate inclusiveness, trust, respect, empathy, integrity and aroha as we will hold these values to be at the heart of our being. Being tamariki led and whanau centred allows the tamariki, whãnau and staff to learn from one another, by embedding Te Reo me õna Tikanga through all learning
opportunities.

We will show a genuine interest in every child and their whãnau. Whãnau input is not only welcomed but encouraged and we will share the tamariki’s journey and experiences every day.

Our focus for strengthening tamariki’s whole being is to support;

  • Ko Wai Au – to understand, acknowledge and accept who we are

  • Communication – to recognise and communicate thoughts, ideas, and emotions effectively and appropriately

  • Resilience – to be able to identify and solve problems, to progress independence and responsibility and to develop an ability to establish and maintain respectful relationships

We believe that Whãnaungatanga binds people together through building effective relationships and the whakapapa of each child will be celebrated within the centre and amongst our community, to promote a sense of belonging.

Our teachers will model acceptable behaviours and will be given on-going professional development opportunities to model continual improvement as life-long learners.

Funding
Our Early Learning Centre receives funding by the Ministry of Education. This is why each month you may receive a Frequent Absence Form or when you change your booking you have to sign a form.

All paperwork provided by the centre around your tamariki enrolment and hours is a confirmation between parent/whanau and the centre that the information we are providing to the Ministry is correct and what you have requested.

If you would like information on our funding please feel free to ask our centre and we will be happy to help you.

Policies & Procedures
Bizzy Bodz has Policies and Procedures that relate to three specific areas; General Management and Administration, Health & Safety and Curriculum.

Our Health & Safety Policies are updated every year and all other policies follow a three year cycle.
We pride ourselves on being always providing opportunities for parents and whanau to be involved in our policies and procedures throughout the review process.

If you would like to view our policies and procedures or talk to us about it please speak with us in the centre and we will be happy to help!
